What started as a unannounced mini Holiday break went on and on a bit longer than I expected, but allowed me to relfect and assess and I realized…

It’s a retroactive Beta! I’m declaring that days 1-39 fulfilled the beta period. We are gearing up for full time assault again, scheduled to begin 1 week from today.

We’re changing around how we are going to approach the listing process in order to not drive us crazy. Also, more results and fun and interesting stuff. Being social. Finishing up site design – and at which point I’ll probably hate it and want something new. Of course.

In the meantime, I’ve got some work to do!

See, I told Andy yesterday that today would be his turn. Halfway through the day, though, he threw the hot potato right back.

I had been thinking about putting this set of Buddha figurines up, and earlier today had cleaned them up and on a whim done a quick picture test. So when he flaked, I was ready.

Until I changed my mind. Then changed my mind back. Then decided that by putting them up on eBay, the universe will decide if they stay or go.

Which I kind of think Buddha would be down with.

Yea, so…yea. How bout some news!

A results post is in the works, but as a teaser, we were stoked today to sell our biggest item yet, for $150. Andy’s Video Walkman with TV Tuner. Clearly, Tiger Cruise is a lucky charm. Ohh wait I do have a crew T-shirt. HMMMmmm…

I need to find a way to add our amazon listings to the side bar. But in the meantime, you can visit our storefront!

And the story only starts there. Don’t worry, I’ll spare you.

Needless to say, this went into a box and there it sat until I ran into it and plucked it right up for eBayableness.

Yes, I invented that word 3.47 seconds ago.

It’s like a Tarot deck but with archangels, kinda.

There’s a book to explain it all thankfully.

The card illustrations are purty.

The End.

I bought these books on recommendation from a friend when I was first getting into photography…in the mid 90′s. Pre-digital, pre-photoshop era, they talk about all the good analog stuffs with film and stuff. Of course, they cover the basics that apply to all, like understanding F stops and focal lengths and all that good stuff.

The second book expands on the first, talking about flash and specialized cameras and more technical whatnot. Good stuff.

We’re adding to our selling locales today to add the glorious Amazon to the mix! We’ve got a bevy of books, a few of which might make for good listings.

The process to list in Amazon is pretty straight forward and fast, but they are crazy with the fees. They figure out the shipping rates (which I hate on eBay) but you’re stuck with whatever they think. So there’s some pros and cons.

We started our Amazon listings with a great coffee table book that has just sat on a shelf, really. Ok, it might have spent a little time on our coffee table, but I think I pulled it off for fear it would get spilled on and messed up. But it sits lonely and I never really look at it and even though it’s a cool book, it might do better in someone else’s possession.

Come take a ride on the memory time machine! Where we explore the fading dusty memories of our crap!

Long ago in days of yore, when Andy and I were friends but starting to be more than, I remember a pre-Burning Man group outing to the Swap Meet.

Oh, the swap meet. (I miss the swap meet. I would go, but I would only come home with more crap.)

Anyway, we were wandering about (Chula? Kobeys?? I can’t remember which it was now) and I saw this dress. But it was late in my swap meet day and most of my money was gone, oh no problem, Andy says, and loans me the money to buy it. I pay him back later that day, but I remember it being a cute moment for some reason that now may seem trite in our cold brittle hearts.

Wait, what?

Later I wore that dress in a massive awesome photo shoot on the playa by the Certainly More Than Friends By Now Andy. But those pictures were the slides. Slides! (You can’t see it, slides, but I’m shaking my fist at you.) I just need to dig out the slide adaptor for the scanner, try it, be disappointed, and forget about it for another 5 years.

The next time I wore this dress was at a party at the big party house we lived in, the infamous 869. I don’t think I had it on long–a benefit of having a party at your own house. See, the dress for all it’s swooshy swinging beaded and sequined glory, fit snug and it’s beads everywhere approach, included on the rear, made sitting not so possible. Oh, the pain of swinging beaded beauty.

And because I’m a terrible human, somewhere in the 2 times I wore it and years it hung in my closet I ripped the back slit up to sloot levels.

Now it’s time for some handy etsy re-imagineer upcycling seamstress to have her crack at the holy beaded and sequined goodness that is The Dress.

Amen.

(Ooops)
